Ibland sägs det att man vinner inte ett brons utan förlorar silvret.

Jag vann brons!

och var nära både silver och guld.

Montemor-O Velho i Portugal bjöd in till EM,på en helt nybyggd bana.Banan var fortfarande lite av en byggplats när vi anlände första dagen, kvällen före start lades den sista asfalten på cyklevägen.

Strålande solsken och värme kom vi att bjudas på under de tre tävlingsdagarna.

Med senaste loppet från Världscupen,och bronsmedaljen färskt i minnet,åkte jag till Portugal med endast en tanke, att slåss om medaljerna.

14 startande blev det i min klass W1x. Bland de startande fanns såväl världsmästaren och bronsmedaljören från VM i fjol,samt medaljörer från fjolårets EM. Någon lätt väg mot podiet skulle det inte bli.

Först var det försöks heat,sedan semifinal, och FINAL.

Final dagar är alltid speciella,mycket känslor,tankar och drömmar kommer fram. Det är dessa dagar och minuter jag arbetar för,att få ro finaler och att slåss om medaljerna.

Loppet blev gasen i botten från start,här var det ingen som tänkte ge möjligheter till någon annan.Det gällde att våga chansa och anta utmaningen,och tro mig,jag antog utmaningen.

En stark spurt de sista 300m tog mig upp på podiet,jag hade vunnit BRONS!!!

Är otroligt glad för medaljen och loppet.Jag visar för mig själv att jag tillhör eliten,otroligt kul att få detta med mig hem inför fortsatt träning och finslipning mot VM i Nya Zeeland.

Jag skall njuta av varje träning fram till avresa;)

Sometimes it is said that you don´t win a bronze but loses the silver.

I won the bronze!

and I was close to both silver and gold.

Montemor-O Velho in Portugal hosted the European Championships, in a newly built course. The course was still a bit of a construction site when we arrived, the evening before the start , they were still working, with the asphalt on the cycling path.

We had sunshine and warm weather, during the three days of competition.

With the last race of the World Cup, and the bronze medal fresh in my mind, I home with having only one view, to reach the podium.

14 entries, in my class W1x.Among the girls you could read names of both world champion and bronze medalist from the World Champs last year, and medalist´s from last year's EC.

It was time to dig deep.....

First it was heats, then semi-final and FINAL.

Final days are always special, a lot of feelings, thoughts and dreams come forward. These are the days and minutes I work for, to race the finals and compete for the medals.

The race turned out to be what was expected, full speed from stroke one,no one was gonna give anything away for free,but I was ready to fight for what I wanted.

A strong sprint the last 300m took me up to the podium, I had won the BRONZE!

I'm extremely happy for the medal and the race.I show to myself that I belong in the top, incredibly fun to get back home with this result in the bag for more training and the continued refinement for the World Champs in New Zealand.
